Visitor Information
The University of Maryland Radiation Facilities is located in the Chemical and Nuclear Engineering Building at 4418 Stadium Drive in College Park, MD.
The nearest visitor parking is in Regents Drive Garage. More information about visitor parking can be found here. The facility is also easy to access from the College Park Metro Station via the University Shuttle (Stop 1726 is closest).

The Radiation Facilities offices are located in the west wing of the building (the left entrance when entering from the front of the building). We will typically plan to meet you outside Room 2309 as shown in the map below. This is just outside the elevator on the 2nd floor.
All visitors must fill out our Visitor Form.
Note that a portion of the tour is not accessible. Visitors must be able to climbs stairs to view inside the reactor pool.
Please remember to limit personal items such as purses, backpacks, and briefcases being brought to the facility, as these must be searched upon arrival.
Follow your escort’s instructions and all posted warnings instructions in the facility.
Photos are not allowed in the secured areas; if you would like a photo, please let your escort know and they may be able to take it for you. Failure to follow instruction may result in your being removed from the facilities.
Do not open doors in the facility without your escorts permission.
The following items are prohibited in the facility:
- Weapons of ANY kind
- Electronic devices, such as, but not limited to: cell phones, cameras, and MP3 players
- Bags, backpacks, purses, or bulky coats that have not been searched by the staff
- Alcoholic beverages, illegal/illicit substances, and associated paraphernalia
